Through our subsidiaries, we are engaged in two business areas: Wealth Management Solutions and Financial Planning. In this section, we give you an overview of the companies that form NPG Wealth Management.

Wealth Management Solutions
We develop and manage investment products in the form of fund-based life assurance policies through a number of life assurance companies named below. We also own marketing companies that distribute our wealth management products in various markets. These marketing companies include NPG Life & Pension Sweden and NPG Central Europe.

Private Estate Life (PEL), Luxembourg
PEL was originally incorporated in Luxembourg in 1990 and became the first member of our group. PEL writes linked-life business and capital redemption bonds with intermediary and asset management partners offering a wide range of funds on an open architecture basis. Investors in Belgium, for example, can choose from over 200 funds provided by over 40 investment houses. This range of investments is tailored to suit the requirements of other markets. The company aims to distinguish its product offering by providing brokers and end investors with access to a broad range of investment options with high quality service delivered, in part, through its online systems.

Commercial Union International Life (CUIL), Luxembourg
CUIL was established in Luxembourg in 1996 and became part of our group in 2008, along with its Swedish distribution company NPG Life & Pension Sweden. Scandinavia has been the main market focus of CUIL where the company holds a strong market position. Like PEL, CUIL bases its business on whole-of-life unit-linked insurance contracts including single premiums as well as regular premium business. The Company also offers a range of private and corporate pension plans. In February 2010, CUIL changed its name to Altraplan Luxembourg following a merger between the two companies.

Altraplan Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Altraplan Luxembourg was established in 1966, making it one of the oldest cross-border life insurers based in Luxembourg. It was the first Luxembourg based insurance company to market unit-linked products on an international basis and has an unparalleled expertise in the field of unit-linked life assurance policies, capital redemption bonds and pension plans.

The company became part of our group in August 2007, at which point it had closed to new business and was in run-off. In December 2008, Altraplan entered an agreement with Luxembourg-based life insurer Lex Life & Pensions SA, under which Lex Life agreed to transfer its employees and a part of its portfolio of insurance relationships to Altraplan. As a result of this transaction, Altraplan has been successfully re-opened for new business, focusing on sales of dedicated portfolios to high net worth individuals.

Altraplan Bermuda, Bermuda
Altraplan Bermuda specializes in bespoke investment solutions for wealthy individuals in the form of life assurance policies, capital redemption bonds and pension plans. The company was originally established in 1992 and became part of our group in 2007. Like Altraplan Luxembourg, it too had been closed to new business for some time and its book of business consisted of predominantly dedicated portfolios for Scandinavian investors. We intend to reopen Altraplan Bermuda to new business.

Augura Life Ireland
Augura Life Ireland will be NPG's platform to offer unit-linked products out of Ireland, thus adding a fourth jurisdiction to NPG's offering of investment solutions. The company was acquired in September 2009.

Vestalife, Gibraltar
Vestalife was founded by NPG Wealth Management in 2008 and commenced operations in 2009. The company provides life assurance policies and capital redemption bonds.

Financial Planning
NPG Wealth Management provides investment advice and other financial services to wealthy individuals, through a number of companies.

FINB, Belgium
FINB is one of the largest mortgage brokerage and financial planning companies in Belgium. Founded in 1999, FINB today operates out of 9 branches throughout Belgium.

UK Wealth Management (UKWM), Great Britain
UKWM is the parent group for seven well-established independent advisory firms, including Yorkshire Investment Group, Plan Invest Group and Rocheberie Consulting. In addition to this, UKWM has its own discretionary asset management firm and specialist pension business. The company’s 120 staff advise and support clients throughout the UK, operating from seven locations across the North East, North West and the Midlands.
